Holidays which celebrate what our founding fathers and mothers envisioned are especially painful. Although we have made progress and even evolved in ways which they could not foresee, we are still stuck in our development as a nation, as a species, by the need to control through violence. Being involved in working to pass legislation for a Department of Peace, to give peace a voice at the table of power, is a way for citizens to facilitate an essential change in our culture.
I am a Vietnam Gold Star Mother.
