IOT: End the Occupation Decmeber Call
Vote for the Weiner amendment!
Insurance investors need to profit from something we need them to do like the manufacturing of eguipment for Solar & Green energy.
. There are NO Socialized Medicine proposals before our congress. Socialzed Medicine means that we, the govenment would have to buy all the hospitals & hire all the doctors. The Bush Administration just bought us Socialized Banking & we could not possibly afford it now.
There are ammendments in the house proposals that will debate Single Payer which means that we could pay you, jeankaderabek or a government agency like Medicare. Then you or they would pay the private hospitals & doctors charging us probobly no more than a 5% overhead. If you want do do this we would pay you quite well for doing all that work but not in the Millions of dollars.
Private insurance Does operate on a near 30% overhead. Cassinos in Vegas are permitted no more than a 25% overhead. You can get better odds in Vegas than with Private insurance.
As for other countries, we pay almost twice as much for health care as they & get less of it with at least 1/6 of Americans uninsured & many more underinsured. Other countries have a combination of Single Payer, Socialzed, Prvate Insurance (regulated to 5 or6% profit). Taiwan has the newest. It is a Single Payer & is known to be the current best.
If we had Medicare from Cradle to Grave, there would be no need for tort reform as victims would have full coverage & would not have to do battle with an insurance company for justice. Our Justice system would deal with those in malpractice.
What we need is anti-trust reform regarding the health insurance industry.
I don't want the profiteering Insurance Industry between me & my doctor for every thing my doctor & I decide I need! I want them out of my hospitals, & out of my CONGRESS .
mandated right given by the constitution,. According to Business Week,
Insurance companies ranked 35 out of the top 50 countries in the US, with a net
profit of 2.2%, so I don't know how you get your 30% profit margin? Antime
the Government gets involved it is a disaster and yes, government
run(public option) is SOCIALIZED medicine, can you deny that? Can't you understand
that the majority of Americans are happy with the health care system and we
do not want it over hauled! By the way Obama brought us socialized
banking not Bush, and we seeing socialized CAR industry....Look at the company he
keeps, self avowed COMMUNIST's, radical leftist. Eziakel Emmanual claims
health care should be given only to the ages of 15 thru 65, because they
are the only productive members of our society, and he is advising Obama on
health care???? With those views, I want their hands off my health care!!!
Our taxes will go up in order to pay for the public option, far more
than it's perceived benefits, and will bankrupt this country, we have already
been downgraded by Moody's and much speculation of dumping the dollar in
the near future.

Assuming HR 676 doesn't override the Hyde Amendment, since it doesn't subsidize private insurance, the Weiner Amendment offers a way for Stupak and his 40 or so pro-life allies to justify their vote for a single payer system as a vote against abortion funding.
I do think important considerations are the requirement of medical personal to participate in abortion against their conscience. What provisions do the current proposlas have to protect the Consciences Obejector in Medical Practice as we do for the C.O.'s in the military?
I don't know what, if any, "conscience clause" the current proposals have.
I believe we currently have policies that exempt medical personel from participating in abortion. Can anyone clarify this for us? What ,when & where is the origin of these policies?
This will become an issue for debate in any health care reform.
Many Americans perform hard manual labor jobs and get hurt everyday. When I tried to complain to some government admin. I got the run around. Mclane's Grocery in San Bernardino, California had coerced their truckers to drive illegally which put more stress on us resulting in injuries. If the Government is not going to help workers get into labor unions and get down on companies then they MUST provide public option health care for every American and their families that has worked.
Offer to work for her progressive opponate in the 2010 elections.Might Cindy Sheehan run again?
I lived in Pelosi's district when we worked to put her in congress the first time. We were so proud of her until she voted for NAFTA. Then, bewildered, we had to wonder what she might have been promised for that vote. Claryce Lauer
" Socialzed Medicine means that we, the govenment would have to buy all the hospitals & hire all the doctors"
If 100% of your income is from the government, you are a defacto employee. It matters not if you call yourself a 'private practitioner'.
The single payer proponents deny the obvious import of their position, but SP is socialized medicine.
Socialism is defined as STATE ownership of the means of production,
Communism, as COMMON ownership of the means of production,&
Capitalism as PRIVATE ownership of the means of production
Most all societies operate on factions of all 3 including ours. While our school system, police & fire departments do not produce something that creates a profit, we finance them through our taxes & they can be referred to as Socialised Education, Socialised Protection Agencies. In our "Socialized Education system,Everyone Pays. Anyone can Choose to Use.Personal Freedom is not compromised.
Is a road crew contracted with tax dollars Socialized Construction or military mercenaries, contracted by private firms with tax dollars, a Socialized Military?
I would call businesses like Winco & Costco & United Airlines, Communistic. They are employee owned & all employees share equally in the profits after they have been payed a just wage. Profit sharing & co-ops exist in small telephone companies, apartments, groceries & other business. These do not take away personal freedom.
The USSR, Union of Soviet Socialist Russia was never Communistic. They never arrived at that & by the time they cleaned out the Kremlin's Totalitarian Government, they found abuses as severe as any unregulated Capitalism.
We need Capitalistic endeavor to achieve the best financial progress. I lived in China for a year ('96-'97) & learned that their remarkable progress after the Cultural Revolution was due to Dong Zhou Peng (or was it Chou En Lao?) having concluded that it was OK for some people to garner a "little wealth" for a "little while" in order to spur capitalistic growth, hence greater wealth for all. The Totalitarian Chinese government called it a Managed Economy. They didn't want to be stupid like the Russians & let everything fall apart all at once.
My point is that systems of economy can & have existed side by side with DIFFERENT forms of government.
Single Payer advocates don't care whether or not we have Socialized Medicine or a system administered by the government, or you, Joe. Seriously, Single Payer could mean we would all pay you. The medical profession would bill you & you would pay them. We would pay you & your employees a good salary, but not in the millions.
Single Payer advocates would not object to Socialized Medicine. We like the VA. It's just that we don't have the money to do that now that the Bush administration has given us Socialized Banking. What Single Payers want, is to take the PROFIT out of Health Care so that everyone can afford Health Care.
We don't want the Insurance Companies, between us & our doctors, hospitals pharmaceuticals, our Congress & our White House! Claryce Lauer
